YVW – Wallan Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade
Project Scope
The lagoon-based Wallan STP required upgrading in order to optimise the capacity and performance of the plant to meet the demands of the heavy growth in the area. Upgrade works consisted of construction of a new 10m deep 4.5m diameter influent pump station, a screening facility and return washwater pump station. Ancillary works included construction of the incoming DN375 sewer, manholes (8.5m and 6.5m deep), emergency relief structure, DN375 rising mains and lagoon bank penetrations, cut-in to the existing sewer and decommissioning the existing pump station site. Works to upgrade an existing irrigation pump station at the site was also included in the contract.
